Fire Alarms/High Sensitivity Smoke Detection

image

An automatic FIRE ALARM SYSTEM is designed to detect the unwanted presence of fire by monitoring environmental changes associated with combustion. In general, a fire alarm system is either classified as automatic, manually activated, or both. Automatic fire alarm systems can be used to notify people to evacuate in the event of a fire or other emergency, to summon emergency forces aid, and to prepare the structure and associated systems to control the spread of fire and smoke.

Emergency Lighting & Exit Signs

Emergency lighting is required in all areas where customers will congregate. Some staff areas may also need to be equipped with emergency lighting. To avoid a dangerous failure in an actual emergency, schedule periodic Testing and Inspection in accordance with NFPA 101.

Restaurant Fire Suppression Systems

In the last 10 years major developments have changed the ways of commercial cooking. Cooking equipment currently manufactured uses more efficient burners, resulting in much higher heating rates. More cooking is done with vegetable oil instead of animal fats. Vegetable oils have a much higher auto ignition temperature. Fryers are now made with improved insulation that slows the cooling rate, but which also increases the risk of a re-flash in the event of fire.

Special Hazards Systems

Could you afford to have your production line shut down due to a fire? Is there room in your operating budget to replace machinery and facilities damaged by fire? If your company is typical of today's high-productivity, cost-conscious facilities, the answer is, “No.” The Kidde IND Dry Chemical System is your best choice for protection of any industrial process or machinery where hazardous liquids or hazardous materials are involved.

Sprinkler Systems

Our comprehensive Sprinkler Services help ensure that your system will perform when it is needed most. We inspect and service all major equipment brands, as well as systems originally installed by others. This includes fire pumps, backflow devices, and special hazards systems, as well as fire detection and alarm. We use our own Inspection forms and riser stickers, and provide a detailed report identifying deficiencies and recommending corrective action. Scheduling is at your convenience.

Smoke Detectors

image

All homes should have smoke detectors installed in them. One step better, all homes should have monitored smoke detectors. You should have a minimum of one smoke detector on each level of your home and depending upon the square footage of your home you may require more. I usually like to recommend to people to have a minimum of 2 monitored smoke detectors per 1000 square feet per level of their home if it’s a fairly open floor plan. Best case is one per room but that can get expensive.

Carobn Monoxide Detectors

Carbon Monoxide is a deadly toxic gas that is undetectable due to the fact that it is colourless, odourless and tasteless. Each year hundreds of people are killed across North America in their own homes by this poisonous gas known as the silent killer.

Carbon Monoxide is produced by the incomplete combustion of the fossil fuels that are present in very common household appliances like furnaces.
